They say that women never throw away letters.
I don't even throw away bus tickets.
But today I went through my PC. A lot of it is insane. For instance, from April 22 to June 22, 2002, there were at least three hundred separate chat logs, each of which were composed of at least two conversations. And I had had four backups of those. In two different drives. I had had nine different sequential backups of the last.convo.ever. Backup upon backup of pictures taken and illustrations I made. Screenshots. Webcam movies. Offline copies of messageboard posts and email sent and received. Satellite photos, years before googleEarth came along. IP numbers, addresses, phone numbers, addressbook lists, birthdays, anniversaries.
A simulacrum out of being and nothingness.
SHIFT+DEL cleared it all up.
It's too early in the day to start making real ashes. I wish I planned this purge a little better; I have to go to work early. Now I'll have to wait until the weekend to finish up.
At least I've reclaimed several hundred megs. So should you.
But oh, to have the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
Everybody now: "I told you so."
